The best part of photography is that every frame tells a story, freezes a moment, and captures the essence of the world as I see it.
My photo journey started in high school, with a Pentax K1000 that my photojournalism teacher handed me. I didn’t know it then, but the next semester of my life would establish a love for visual storytelling and the power of composition within the frame. Through the viewfinder, the world is what I want it to be, and there is nothing like that feeling.
Years later, I would come to understand the power of the lens to empower people’s self-image by showing them how the rest of the world views them…without judgment. One of the most important things I’ve learned is that we embellish our flaws, and most of the time the world doesn’t see what we see. The power of my camera is an argument for how amazing our world, and the people in it, truly are.

Through photography, we are able to document history in a way that our ancestors couldn’t. It has had the power to advocate for those in need, raise awareness for important social issues, and helps to create communication beyond boundaries. It is a convenient way to communicate our personal experiences, preserve the memories of our journeys, and inspires creative expression. All of this has helped to shape my photography in ways that impacts history, empowers self-love, and creates personal narratives. My photography is my attempt to act locally, and create global change.
